Let Peace, Joy and Love be your gift to all this holiday season — and continue throughout the coming year.
Happy Holidays
“Tell me a story. Please…tell me a story.”
That’s a request we’ve all made since we learned to talk — and listen. And we still love a story — TV, movies, books, theatre – all stories to entertain, enrich, inspire, amuse.
At The Storefront Theatre, we tell stories through the faces and voices of actors but your imagination supplies the rest – set, props, costumes, everything.
We are reader’s theatre.
Embrace the joy of the here and now. Delight in the presence
of those we love and the presents that we exchange with love.
At The Storefront Theatre, we delight in your presence in the audience and hope that your experience with us gives you joy and laughter and good spirits that you can take home with you and enjoy all season long. From The Storefront Theatre to you and yours: May your holidays be filled with comedy to lift your spirits
and drama to touch your heart.
Coming in January…
The Acceptance by David Anthony Wright
Robert and Mary, two seventy-something residents of a NC retirement center, meet on the facility’s sun-drenched patio. He’s a retired foreign correspondent, back in his hometown for the first time in fifty years. She is retired from the restaurant business and has gone blind late in life. Over cups of spiked lemonade, they realize they were high school sweethearts, on their way to matrimony. The arc of their lives and the results of their decisions provide the storyline of this drama: a story of love, loss, longing, and life.

We Like Short-Shorts:
A Festival of 10-Minute Plays
It’s back! Our 13th annual 10-minute play festival with new plays, new playwrights, and the fun of competition. This season, all the playwrights come from the southeast. We’ll see if that makes a difference. It’s a fast-paced event with comedies and dramas, romances and mysteries. You’ll be laughing and crying – maybe at the same time. Once again, we say: Love it or hate it – it won’t last long.
SHOW DETAILS:
March 7 | 7:30pm
March 8 | 2:30pm
Show #5? by?
We so very carefully selected the final show of our season.
We knew you’d love it because it’s light and lovely and absolutely rolling-in-the-aisles funny. Unfortunately, the publisher’s license hasn’t come through so we can’t promote the play, cast the play, rehearse the play – even name the play – until we get that OK. The words “trust us” always come across a little suspicious but in this case, trust us. You’ll love the play. And if the license doesn’t come through, you’ll love the next one we pick just as much!
We promise! Ooh, that sounds a little suspicious too, doesn’t it?
SHOW DETAILS:
April 18 | 7:30pm
April 19 | 2:30pm
